Assistant Financial Manager/ Controller

Location: Warrington Area (Office-Based)
Salary: £45,000 - £59,000 + Benefits

Are you looking to join a growing and highly successful international business? Are you an ambitious candidate who is looking for an excellent opportunity that would suit a qualified or part-qualified finance professional who enjoys working with data, improving processes, and supporting business growth through insightful financial analysis?

This role will operate across multiple business units, and as the company is expanding through both organic growth and acquisitions, it will create a varied and commercially focused role with significant exposure to financial reporting, controls, systems, and integration projects.

The Role

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in supporting performance reporting, strengthening financial controls, and assisting with the integration of newly acquired businesses. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and maintaining financial scorecards, dashboards, and management reports.
  • Delivering meaningful financial analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Reviewing and improving internal control processes and compliance procedures.
  • Assisting with group and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Supporting internal and external audit activity.
  • Working collaboratively with operational and shared service teams across the business.
  • Managing and monitoring stock and work-in-progress controls.
  • Supporting acquisition and business integration projects.
  • Assisting with financial system implementations and data migrations.
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring financial accuracy.
  • Helping develop enhanced reporting processes and financial insights.

About You

The successful candidate will be a proactive finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and working within a fast-paced environment. You will ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or be advanced part qualified or in the final stages of qualification).
  • At least five years' finance and accounting experience.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Previous experience using SAP or an ERP system an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach and strong communication skills.
  • Experience within a service-led organisation would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to acquisitions, integrations, or project-based finance work would be beneficial.
