MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a luxury fashion brand that is looking to appoint an Assistant Financial Controller to join its West London-based finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright, ambitious and technically strong finance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and develop into a broader financial controllership position.
The Role
Reporting into the senior finance leadership team, you will play a key role across the financial accounting and reporting function, whilst developing your skills and taking on increasing responsibility over time.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the month-end close process and financial reporting.
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts.
- Taking ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting strong financial controls.
- Supporting budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting.
- Assisting with year-end accounts, audit and statutory reporting.
- Supporting VAT and other financial compliance requirements.
- Working with colleagues across the wider business to resolve financial queries.
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Taking on increasing responsibility as your experience develops.
About You
- Bright, ambitious and keen to progress within a growing consumer business.
- Strong grounding in financial accounting and month-end processes.
- Experience in a Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or similar role.
- Part-qualified, newly qualified or qualified by experience. Full qualification is not essential.
- Strong understanding of management accounts, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Good knowledge of financial controls and accounting processes.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach.
- Strong Excel and financial systems capability.
- Consumer, retail, FMCG, e-commerce or other product-led experience would be beneficial, although fashion experience is not essential.
- Someone with the ambition and potential to develop into a broader Financial Controller position.
