Role Description

This part-time remote Junior Assistant Financial Officer I role is ideal for students seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced startup environment. The position involves supporting daily financial operations, including assisting with invoicing, basic bookkeeping, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role also includes helping prepare financial summaries and reports, tracking expenses, and supporting internal financial controls and compliance procedures. The Junior Assistant Financial Officer I will collaborate with finance and operations team members across different time zones, communicate updates clearly, and contribute to process improvements. As part of a dynamic and international team, the individual will gain exposure to startup financial management and help ensure smooth and transparent financial workflows.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
  • Foundational knowledge of finance and accounting principles, ideally gained through coursework or practical experience.
  • Experience or familiarity with invoicing processes, billing systems, and basic bookkeeping tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication in English.
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics) or recent graduate at junior level.
  • Comfort working remotely in a multicultural environment and managing tasks across different time zones.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial tools (e.g., Excel or Google Sheets); experience with accounting software is an advantage.
  • High attention to detail, integrity in handling sensitive data, and a proactive, learning-oriented mindset.
