Role Description
Open Age Mens Reserve Team Assistant Coach is a voluntary position, based in south Manchester/Cheshire. This role supports the Reserve team manager in planning and delivering training sessions, match day preparation and tactics, running drills, providing individual feedback to players, and helping monitor fitness and performance. The Assistant Coach will also contribute to player selection, maintain equipment and training areas, and collaborate with other staff and volunteers to uphold club standards. The role involves regular communication with players, promoting good sportsmanship, and maintaining a positive team culture.

Candidate must be available for team training on Wednesday nights and match days on Saturday afternoon.
Qualifications & Experience
- Candidates should possess experience working in team environments.
- Candidates should possess solid Football knowledge, including rules, tactics, and player development principles.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to engage with players, caregivers, and club staff.
- Candidates should possess Training skills, including planning sessions, delivering drills, and adapting activities for different skill levels.
- Relevant coaching certifications (e.g., FA coaching badges or equivalent) and experience in youth or Open age football are beneficial.
- Ability to create an inclusive, safe environment, demonstrate professionalism, and work collaboratively within a volunteer-led organization is highly valued.
- Basic first aid knowledge and a willingness to undertake safeguarding checks and training are advantageous.
