The Roof Gardens is a social club in the sky, 100 feet above the streets of Kensington. Close to an acre of private gardens with views across London to the horizon, The Roof Gardens is a new generation members club.
A place of escape, bursting with wildflowers, olive and mulberry trees, grassy lawns and hidden nooks. An Art Deco gem created in 1938, The Roof Gardens has a legendary legacy. The Roof Gardens’ community is united by open-mindedness, optimism and kindness, not defined by background.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Front of House Manager to support the daily operation of our Front of House team and help deliver an outstanding experience for our members and guests.
Working alongside the Front of House Manager, you will lead the team during shifts, ensure consistently high service standards and provide operational support across the Club.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of Front of House, ensuring a seamless member and guest experience.
- Welcome members and guests with a warm, professional and personalised approach.
- Oversee reception activities including reservations, guest check-in, enquiries and event ticketing.
- Monitor service standards and resolve member enquiries or issues promptly.
- Work closely with Membership, Food & Beverage, Events and Security teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Supervise, coach and support the Front of House team during shifts.
- Assist with team training, onboarding and rota planning.
- Maintain accurate member records and ensure compliance with Club policies, GDPR, health and safety requirements.
- Ensure Front of House areas are presented to the highest standards.
- Support the delivery of Club events and undertake other duties as required.

Experience
- Previous supervisory experience in Reception or Assistant Front of House Manager roles within luxury hospitality, hotels, private members' clubs or premium venues.
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of reservation systems such as OpenTable, SevenRooms or ResDiary.
- Experience leading and motivating teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Confident using reservation and booking systems with good IT and administrative skills.
- Professional, approachable and discreet, with excellent attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
