The Role:
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Garment Technologist to join the growing product team at MP Activewear, a performance-led sportswear brand creating functional, considered activewear designed to support movement and performance.
Working across our activewear collections, you will support the Garment Technologists in ensuring every product meets our high standards for fit, function, quality and performance. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong interest in sportswear and technical product who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced, innovative brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Garment Technologists throughout the product development process, from initial development samples through to bulk production.
- Assist with fit sessions by preparing samples, taking accurate notes, recording measurements and updating fit comments.
- Measure and assess garments against technical specifications, size charts and approved standards.
- Support the development of activewear products with a focus on fit, functionality, comfort and performance.
- Help maintain accurate technical packs, specifications, size charts and product records.
- Work closely Product Development and external Production teams to ensure clear communication throughout the development process.
- Review and monitor sample quality, garment construction and workmanship, escalating any concerns where necessary.
- Support communication with suppliers and manufacturers regarding fit, construction, workmanship and quality comments.
- Assist with fabric and garment testing, care label approvals and relevant product compliance documentation.
- Help ensure critical path deadlines are achieved by tracking samples, fit approvals and technical sign-offs.
- Support the assessment of performance fabrics, trims and construction techniques to ensure products are suitable for their intended activity and end use.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in fit consistency, durability, performance and technical standards across MP Activewear collections.

About You:
- Previous experience in an Assistant Garment Technologist, Junior Garment Technologist or Technical Assistant role, ideally within activewear, sportswear, athleisure or a related product category.
- A qualification in Fashion, Clothing Technology, Garment Technology or a related discipline is desirable.
- Good understanding of garment construction, grading, fabrics, fit and manufacturing processes.
- An interest in technical and performance fabrics, including stretch materials and activewear construction, would be advantageous.
- Confident measuring garments and interpreting technical specifications and size charts.
- A strong eye for detail and organisation with an understanding of how fit, construction and fabrication can impact garment performance.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working to deadlines in a fast-paced product environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Positive, collaborative and eager to learn, with a genuine enthusiasm for activewear, sportswear and performance product.
