About the Role

As an Assistant General Manager at EL&N, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the site, supporting the General Manager in delivering an exceptional guest experience, strong operational standards and a high-performing team. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced F&B professional who enjoys being on the floor, leading from the front and creating an environment where both guests and team members feel valued. You will take ownership of your shift, confidently manage operational challenges and ensure the team delivers the EL&N experience consistently even during the busiest services.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take responsibility for the smooth and effective running of the restaurant/café during your shift.
  • Deliver consistently high standards of guest service, food quality, presentation and hospitality, ensuring every guest receives the full EL&N experience.
  • Lead by example and remain visible and hands-on across the floor, supporting the team during busy periods and peak service.
  • Coach, motivate and develop team members, creating a positive and inclusive working environment where people feel valued and supported.
  • Lead the team in line with EL&N's six core values: Fun, Respect, Honesty, Commitment, Teamwork and Ownership.
  • Support the General Manager with labour planning, deployment and productivity, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time.
  • Take full operational responsibility for the site in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Manage guest feedback and operational issues calmly and professionally, resolving concerns effectively and protecting the EL&N guest experience.
  • Ensure all food safety, health & safety, licensing, allergen, HACCP and company compliance standards are consistently followed.
  • Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation and operational discipline throughout the site.

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded hospitality leader who is ready to take the next step in their F&B career. You will ideally have:

  • 3+ years management experience within the hospitality, restaurant, café, premium casual dining or F&B industry.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager or similar leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of day-to-day F&B operations and service delivery.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching and developing a diverse hospitality team.
  • Experience managing busy shifts within a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • A strong understanding of labour management, team deployment and productivity.
  • Experience working with sales, labour, stock, wastage and other commercial KPIs.
