Join the team at Pasture Birmingham
At Pasture, we believe in fine dining for everyone. Exceptional produce, cooking over fire, slick and engaging service, and an atmosphere that feels exciting without ever being overcomplicated.
Located at 15 Colmore Row in the heart of Birmingham, Pasture brings together open-fire cooking, in-house butchery, carefully sourced ingredients and a soundtrack that keeps the energy flowing. We care about where our food comes from, how it's prepared and, above all, how we make people feel when they walk through our doors.
But great restaurants aren't built on great food alone. They're built by great people.
We invest in our teams, encourage creativity and believe in a culture where respect, support and progression matter. Now, we're looking for an Assistant General Manager to help bring all of that to life.
What We’re Looking For
We’re after someone who brings the perfect balance of fun, professionalism, and leadership to the floor. You’ll have solid experience at Assistant General Manager level (or equivalent) in a busy, high-volume restaurant and feel completely at home running a fast-paced service. You’ll be a natural motivator who leads from the front, supports your team, and brings out the best in everyone around you. You’re consistent, proactive, and dependable, with a genuine passion for people, training, and growing talent. Strong communication is key, along with a solid understanding of service operations, margin control, staff planning, and stock. If you love creating 5-star guest experiences while keeping your team inspired and energised, you’ll thrive in this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
