The Role
This role is the pathway to become a General Manager at Blank Street.
You will support the Operations Manager/General Manager in running a high-performing Blank Street store day to day — and to build the skills, judgement, and leadership required to become a future General Manager. As an AGM, you are the right hand to your OM/GM. You own the floor, are passionate about hospitality and uphold the highest standards.
You lead from the front on shift, coach the team in real time, and help turn your store into a benchmark of retail excellence — while learning how to run the full store through hands-on exposure to people leadership, operational rhythm, and commercial decision-making.
Who You Are
You are a hospitality-first operator who holds a high bar for standards and brings positive energy to every shift. You’re confident leading the floor in high-volume moments, and you’re excited to develop into a General Manager, growing your leadership and operational capability through learning by doing, with support and coaching from your OM/GM.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
