Six months ago, we opened the doors to brew’d at York Designer Outlet. Since then, we’ve grown quickly, built a brilliant little team and created something we’re incredibly proud of.

Now we’re looking towards the next stage of brew’d, and we’re looking for someone great to help us get there.

We’re hiring an Assistant General Manager to work closely with the Directors and become a key part of running and growing the business.

This isn’t just a shift manager position. Our team already opens, closes and runs shifts independently. We’re looking for someone who can go a step further - someone we can trust to take ownership of the shop in our absence, help develop the team, spot opportunities for improvement and bring another set of ideas, energy and experience to the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You’ll still be very much hands-on. Expect to make coffee, serve customers, clean tables, prep food and work alongside everyone else. But alongside that, you’ll have genuine responsibility for helping us run the place.

What you'll be doing

  • Running the shop confidently in the absence of the Directors
  • Leading from the floor and setting the standard for the team
  • Maintaining high standards across coffee, food, service and presentation
  • Supporting, coaching and developing the team
  • Helping with rotas, staffing and day-to-day organisation
  • Monitoring stock, wastage and operational costs
  • Spotting problems and taking ownership of fixing them
  • Helping us introduce new systems and improve how we work
  • Supporting events, launches, menu changes and new projects
  • Bringing ideas to the table and giving honest feedback
  • Working closely with the Directors as we plan the next stage of brew’d

Who We’re Looking For

Previous management or senior hospitality experience would be useful, but we're more interested in finding the right person.

We want someone who takes ownership, notices the little things and genuinely cares about hospitality.

You should be comfortable making decisions independently, leading a small team and getting stuck into whatever needs doing.

Most importantly, we want someone who wants to help build something.

As brew’d grows, we want this role to grow with it.
