Welcome to Bat & Ball Covent Garden, where great hospitality meets a little healthy competition! Right in the heart of London's buzzing West End, we're not your average bar. Think ping pong, interactive darts, shuffleboard, pool, karaoke, live sport, banging burgers, stone-baked pizzas, and cocktails that keep the good times rolling.
From after-work drinks and corporate parties to packed-out weekends, live DJs, and big sporting events, there's never a dull moment at Bat & Ball. We're all about bringing people together, creating unforgettable experiences, and delivering brilliant hospitality with a whole lot of personality.
And now we're looking for a Deputy General Manager who's ready to step up, bring the energy, and help lead the team at one of London's most exciting competitive socialising venues.
The Role
As our Deputy General Manager, you'll be right at the heart of the action, working alongside the General Manager to keep everything running smoothly while making sure every guest has an experience worth coming back for.
This isn't a role for someone who likes sitting behind a desk. We want a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, knows how to get the best out of their team, and understands that great hospitality and commercial success go hand in hand.
You'll Be Responsible For
- Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of a busy, high-volume venue.
- Leading, motivating, and developing a fantastic team that delivers exceptional hospitality every time.
- Driving sales, managing costs, and helping the business smash its targets.
- Overseeing everything from busy weekend services and live sporting events to large-scale parties and corporate bookings.
- Maintaining excellent operational standards across the bar, kitchen, gaming areas, and guest experience.
- Taking ownership of the venue in the General Manager's absence, ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
- Creating an energetic, positive working environment where the team works hard, has fun, and takes pride in what they do.

Who We're Looking For
We're after someone who brings just as much personality as they do experience. You'll love hospitality, understand the excitement of competitive socialising, and know how to balance delivering an incredible guest experience with running a commercially successful business.
You'll Be Someone Who
- Has previous experience as a Deputy General Manager or a strong Assistant General Manager ready to take the next step.
- Thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced hospitality environment, ideally with experience in late-night venues, bars, or competitive socialising.
- Is a natural leader who can inspire, coach, and develop a team while keeping the atmosphere fun and engaging.
- Has strong commercial awareness, understands the numbers, and knows how to drive revenue while managing labour and operational costs.
- Is confident managing busy services, large group bookings, events, and late-night trade.
- Has a genuine passion for brilliant food, great drinks, entertainment, and delivering unforgettable guest experiences.
- Isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, lead from the front, and get stuck in when things get busy.
