Role overview

As an Assistant General Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the successful day-to-day operation of the club. Working closely with the General Manager, you will help maintain high operational standards, support colleague development, and contribute to achieving membership and commercial objectives.

Through effective leadership, coaching, and collaboration, you will help create a positive environment for colleagues and members, ensuring the club delivers exceptional experiences, strong operational performance, and a safe, welcoming environment for all.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operationally covered to ensure daily expectations are delivered.
• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
• Support the achievement of membership, revenue, and commercial targets.
• Drive and maximize secondary spending revenue.
• Ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.
• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard. Manage the weekly banking process so that wastage and variance is minimal, maximizing profit.
• Ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members and yourself.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.
• Help create a positive, supportive, and engaging working environment for colleagues.
• Represent JD Gyms values and standards in all interactions with members and colleagues.
