GXO is currently looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our B&Q operation in Doncaster. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll play a key role in leading a large warehousing operation, managing Shift Managers across both day and night shifts, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of operational targets. You'll be responsible for driving performance, developing talent, and creating a culture built on safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
This is a full-time, permanent position. Whilst you'll predominantly work during daytime hours, flexibility will be required to support both day and night shift operations because, after all, this is logistics!

- You’ll be paid a salary of up to £75,000 per annum

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead and support the warehouse operation, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality performance against service and budget targets
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of Shift Managers, creating a highly engaged and high-performing culture
- Drive operational excellence through effective resource planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and strong leadership
- Champion health, safety, and wellbeing standards, ensuring full compliance across the operation
- Analyse performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall business performance
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous proven experience in managing large teams in high-volume logistics environments
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop large operational teams through periods of change and growth
- A results-driven approach, with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering operational excellence
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels
- A good understanding of health & safety, employee wellbeing, and operational compliance
