Deputy General Manager - Award Winning Pub, Bar and Restaurant Group - London

Welcome to London's biggest independent pub company!

Urban Pubs & Bars was founded in 2014 and has since expanded to an estate of over 67 pubs, bars and restaurants across London.

We've won our fair share of awards in that time, most recently winning ‘Best Managed Pub Company - 51+ sites’ and "Best Food Offering" at The Publican Awards in 2026. We are also proud to have been recognised by The Sunday Times as one of the Top 100 Companies To Work For in both 2025 and 2026.

Deputy General Manager — The George and Dragon, Wanstead

We're looking for an ambitious Deputy General Manager to join the team at The George and Dragon in Wanstead. Having proudly returned to its original name, the pub serves the local community of Wanstead with a refined food and drink experience — a menu of expertly crafted British dishes alongside excellent wines, real ales and exciting cocktails, a lively bar, a comfortable lounge, and what we think is the best Sunday roast in Wanstead. With big screens showing live sport, private spaces for parties and gatherings, and a beer garden and terrace for the sunnier days, no two shifts are the same. Sitting just a few steps from Wanstead Station, it's a busy, well-loved site with a genuine local following.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
