About the Role
As an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer or Assistant Engineering Geologist, you will play a crucial role in meeting project demands and contributing to meaningful geotechnical work.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing professional and technically competent reports and collaborating with specialists and clients
- Preparing ground models and deriving design parameters
- Conducting slopes, walls, foundations, and geotechnical structures assessments, including geological hazard evaluations
- Supporting project delivery through client liaison and seamless coordination with interdisciplinary teams
- Embracing sustainability initiatives, utilising 3D data in project execution
- Engaging in site-based work, supervising ground investigation and construction—a crucial part of groundbreaking UK projects across diverse sectors
- Employing WSP’s newly developed training framework to foster personal and team development through shared experience

What We Look for
We’re seeking candidates who demonstrate:
- A fundamental appreciation of ground risk and site investigation techniques
- A solid grasp of basic soil mechanics and engineering principles
- Strong verbal and written communication, capable of delivering high-quality reports and design deliverables
- Ambition to pursue and achieve chartered status
