The opportunity
Jigsaw Conferences provides temporary, emergency, and planned accommodation services to housing organisations across the UK. We are looking for an experienced accommodation professional to help lead our service and support the Head of Accommodation.
This is a varied senior operational role combining people leadership with hands-on involvement in complex bookings, resident relocations, supplier management, quality assurance, and service improvement. You will join an experienced team and have the opportunity to influence how our service develops.
What you will be doing
- Help lead the Accommodation Team day to day and deputise for the Head of Accommodation when required.
- Provide visible, practical guidance to the daytime and Out of Hours teams, making confident decisions when challenges arise.
- Coach and support team members, helping them build their skills and develop within their roles.
- Manage complex accommodation requirements, including emergency bookings, major incidents, group moves, and planned resident relocations.
- Coordinate planned and phased relocation projects, ensuring residents, clients, suppliers, and internal teams remain informed throughout.
- Handle resident, client, and supplier complaints, resolving issues professionally and efficiently.
- Complete regular quality assurance checks to ensure bookings are accurate, compliant, and meet company and client requirements.
- Help onboard and manage accommodation suppliers, including hotels, serviced apartments, landlords, and private rented sector providers.
- Review service performance and KPIs, identify trends, and recommend practical improvements.
- Support tenders, new client launches, business projects, and the introduction of improved systems and ways of working.

What we are looking for
You do not need to have followed one particular career path. You may come from temporary or emergency accommodation, social housing, hotels, serviced apartments, relocation, or another relevant accommodation environment.
Essential experience and skills
- Relevant operational experience in temporary, emergency, or another relevant accommodation environment.
- Experience coordinating planned or phased resident relocations, complex decants, group moves, or a comparable multi-household accommodation project.
- Core experience of accommodation bookings, placements, or the operational delivery of accommodation services.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience, with the confidence to support and develop others.
- Sound judgement and the ability to manage operational escalations, make decisions under pressure, and balance competing priorities.
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
- A quality-focused approach, strong attention to detail, and confidence using Microsoft Office and relevant booking, reservation, or case-management systems.
It would be helpful if you also have
- Experience within social housing, relocation services, or the private rented sector.
- Experience supporting Out of Hours operations or managing significant operational escalations.
- Client account management or contract relationship experience.
- Experience of supplier onboarding, performance management, procurement, or tender support.

Hours and on-call arrangements
The standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, normally Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm, with flexibility to support operational requirements.
As part of our 24/7 service, you will provide escalation support to the Out of Hours team on a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rota. This may include emergency accommodation enquiries, significant operational issues, and large-scale or group decants. An additional payment of £3,000 per year is provided for participation in the rota.
What we offer
