Job Title
Salary: £39,777 to £44,704 Plus MRA of £3000 or £6000 depending on experience

In this busy and exciting role, you will provide strategic, operational and educational leadership across our Construction & Technical Trades apprenticeship provision, including Plumbing, Electrical, Bricklaying, Carpentry and Property Maintenance.
Working closely with the Head of Faculty, you will lead and develop apprenticeship teams, drive continuous improvements in teaching, learning and assessment, and ensure apprentices receive an outstanding experience from enrolment through to successful End-Point Assessment. You will take the operational lead for OneFile, using performance data to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement and support timely achievement.
You will also play an important role in strengthening relationships with regional employers and ensuring our curriculum continues to respond to industry needs. Combining your technical expertise with strong leadership skills, you will help us achieve excellent outcomes for apprentices while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance and learner experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and develop Skills Trainer Assessors, Lecturers and Quality Leads across construction and technical trades.
- Drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning, assessment, workplace coaching and the overall apprentice experience.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of OneFile, using reports and data to track apprentice progress, engagement and timely achievement.
- Monitor the quality and impact of apprenticeship progress reviews, ensuring employers are fully involved.
- Ensure effective off-the-job training, accurate audit trails and apprentice readiness for End-Point Assessment.
- Maintain robust quality assurance processes and compliance with Awarding Organisation, Ofsted, ESFA and IEG requirements.
- Monitor key performance measures including attendance, retention, achievement and timely EPA completion, implementing interventions where required.
- Lead curriculum development and reform to ensure apprenticeship provision responds to industry developments and local and regional skills needs.
- Build strong relationships with employers and work with commercial teams to identify skills gaps, grow partnerships and increase apprenticeship recruitment.
- Coach and develop staff, ensuring appropriate qualifications, CPD, performance management and professional standards are maintained.

What we're looking for:
We are looking for an experienced and inspirational leader with current experience of teaching, learning and assessment within educational and work-based environments.
You will have a minimum Level 3 qualification within a relevant vocational industry, a Level 3 Assessment & Quality Assurance qualification or equivalent, GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above or equivalent, and a Level 5 teaching qualification and Level 4 Assessment & Quality Assurance qualification, or a willingness to work towards these where applicable.
You will bring strong line management experience, including performance management, recruitment, appraisals and attendance management, alongside evidence of successfully leading teams and delivering sustained improvements in achievement and learner experience.
With excellent knowledge of curriculum development, quality assurance and current Further Education initiatives, you will be confident analysing performance data, setting priorities and communicating effectively with colleagues, apprentices and employers.
