Assistant Head of Faculty - English and Maths
Salary: £39,777 - £44,704 depending on qualifications and experience
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, all year round
Location: Stamford
Closing Date: 21st October 2026
We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to join the English and Maths Faculty as Assistant Head of Faculty.
Working closely with the Head of English and Maths, this role will support the leadership and development of the curriculum area, helping to drive high-quality teaching, learning and assessment while ensuring students remain at the heart of everything we do.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly effective teacher who is looking to further develop their leadership experience within a dynamic and forward-thinking Further Education environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the ongoing development and improvement of maths provision
- Leading and inspiring curriculum teams to deliver high-quality student experiences and outcomes
- Monitoring performance against key KPIs including recruitment, attendance, retention and achievement
- Supporting curriculum planning to ensure provision meets local, regional and employer needs
- Contributing to quality improvement activity including SARs, QIPs and inspection preparation
- Supporting staff development, coaching and performance management
- Leading on quality assurance processes including internal verification and compliance
- Deputising for the Head of Faculty where required
- Teaching within the curriculum area as part of the role

- Has substantial teaching experience and a proven track record of positive learner outcomes
- Is passionate about delivering high-quality education and supporting students to achieve their full potential
- Has strong organisational, leadership and communication skills
- Can motivate and inspire both learners and colleagues
- Has experience coordinating curriculum delivery and driving improvement
- Is committed to continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation within Further Education
