Job Description: Student Support Assistant
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, ambitious and passionate member of staff to join our very effective and highly valued Student Support team.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience of working with young people
- Excellent communication skills
- Good level of education
- Ability to build good relationships with students and their parents
- High level of confidentiality
Role Responsibilities
- Work closely with the teaching Heads of Year to support students' academic progress, behaviour for learning, and pastoral support and wellbeing.
- Provide general support in the student Hub for all year groups.
- Liaise with other staff, parents, and sometimes external agencies.
- Handle administrative duties such as phone calls home, arranging and attending meetings with parents, and taking meeting notes when necessary.

Job Details
- Hours: 34.17 hours over 5 days per week, term time only (39 weeks)
- Schedule: 8:30am to 4:00pm with a 40-minute unpaid lunch break
The Successful Candidate Will
- Care deeply and have high ambitions for every one of our students
- Be flexible and adaptable
- Ideally have some experience of working with young people in a school or other setting
- Be organised, efficient, and competent with Microsoft Office packages and quick to learn new software (e.g., Arbor, our MIS system)
Team
This post holder will join a team of five Heads of Year and one other Assistant Head of Year, along with our wider Student Support Team which includes the Welfare Team and Learning Support team. We have an excellent team of associate staff and teachers across the school and our students are a delight to work with.

Salary
WMAT scale WA4, £24,905 - £28,548 FTE (Actual £20,333 - £23,207)
