Assistant Headteacher i/c Safeguarding and Sixth Form
Leadership Group Pay Range L14 - L18 (£71,330 - £78,702)
Permanent Contract from 1 January 2027
Full Time
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and committed Assistant Headteacher in charge of Safeguarding and Sixth Form. The successful candidate, a DSL with recent sixth form teaching experience, will be responsible for introducing and leading our new Sixth Form provision which has been approved for opening in September 2027.
We are very excited about the development of a sixth form provision at Langley which we believe will enhance our already successful, collaborative and inclusive school. Langley enjoys an excellent local reputation and we are committed to being ambitious, inclusive and fair to enable everyone to fulfil our school motto, ‘to be the best we can be.’ Langley is an oversubscribed, successful mainstream school, supporting just over 1000 children including over 80 children with EHC Plans. Our vision for the Sixth Form is to provide an ambitious academic pathway complemented by a range of qualifications which will open doors for our pupils for the rest of their lives.
The successful candidate will have experience of leading safeguarding at a whole school level. They will share our ambitious vision for post-16 education at Langley, developing strong links with industry and external partners to provide an enrichment programme which is rooted in personal development to prepare our students to lead successful and fulfilled lives.

As the work of this post involves working with children, adults at risk or in a position of trust, it is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Please note that Disclosure & Barring Service clearance at the appropriate level will be required for this post. Where this post meets the definition of Regulated Activity (as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) the relevant barred list(s) for children and adults will also be checked. You must disclose details of all unfiltered reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions as these will be disclosed by the DBS.
