Assistant Headteacher – Quality of Education
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious teacher to join the Senior Leadership Team at Vermont School as Assistant Headteacher – Quality of Education.
About the Role
This is a particularly exciting time to join our school. Vermont is currently part of the Aspire Trust and, following the recent academy order, we are now preparing to join the Special Schools Trust. We are excited about this next chapter for Vermont and the opportunities it will bring for our children, families, and staff.
Our transition to the Special Schools Trust will enable us to build on Vermont's existing strengths while benefiting from greater collaboration, shared expertise, and specialist knowledge. We look forward to working alongside schools that share our ambition for children with additional needs and to learning from, and contributing to, a strong specialist community.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
