Salary Range: £33,178 - £36,369 per annum

Work Location: Hampshire Highways Depot, Petersfield

Hours per week: 37

Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

To deliver the regulatory duties of the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991 and Network Management Duties of the Traffic Management Act 2004 (through coordinating works and activities and inspecting and monitoring County Council and utility works and stakeholder communication) to ensure statutory obligations are met in accordance with legislation The County Councils Permit Scheme, agreed policies, procedures, and budgets. This role will be undertaken in the East Hampshire area (East Hants & Havant).

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate utility works, County Council works, and public events to minimize traffic disruption.
  • Inspect utility and County Council works on the highway to identify and resolve defects and improve works quality in close liaison with contractors.
  • Respond to queries from members of the public and other stakeholders.
  • Support the local works Streetworks inspector and performance management team.

What we’re looking for

  • Appropriate highways experience.
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage a workload with minimal supervision.
  • Good customer care and communication skills.
  • Ability to fulfill the travel requirements of the role and, as required, be able to work out of hours to respond to weather and other emergencies.

This is a coordination role not highway design/engineering.
