Join Our Team as an Assistant Housing Officer

Location: Burngreave, Sheffield

Closing date: 14th August 2026

Salary: £17,698

Contract: Permanent, part-time (21hrs over 3 days - Wed, Thu, Fri)

At Arches Housing, we’re committed to providing excellent services to our residents and creating safe, thriving communities. As an Assistant Housing Officer, you will be the face of our organisation, working directly with tenants both in the office, on the telephone and out in the community. This is a fast-paced, highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will support our Housing Officers in managing tenancies, resolving issues and ensuring our neighbourhoods remain safe and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer contact: Act as the first point of contact for tenant enquiries, providing clear, friendly advice on tenancy matters, anti-social behaviour and basic rent queries.
  • Estate management: Conduct regular estate walkabouts and property inspections across our properties to ensure safety, cleanliness, and high maintenance standards.
  • Allocating properties: Advertise properties, shortlist applicants and conduct accompanied viewings. Support our Housing Officers to plan and prepare for sign-ups.
  • Community involvement: Respond to reports of low-level anti-social behaviour and tenancy management concerns, work collaboratively with local agencies and partners to find resolutions to problems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
