Assistant Homelift Engineer (Assistant Field Service Engineer)
Location: Carlisle
Salary range: £26,732 - £29,416 per annum (depending on experience) + Overtime + Call Out Allowance + Company Bonus Scheme + Company Vehicle

In this field-based engineering role, you’ll be working as part of a 2-person team, assisting a qualified homelift Engineer. One day you could be installing a new Stiltz homelift, and the next helping a customer get back up and running.
As a Trainee homelift Engineer, you’ll work closely with an experienced homelift Engineer travelling across the North of England and Scotland, while being fully supported by a collaborative engineering team that’s committed to your development and success.

What you will do:
- Assist with the install our award winning Stiltz Homelifts in customer homes
- Support service, maintenance and repair of homelifts
- Manage your van stock, tools and equipment
- Deliver a great customer experience every day
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for people who are reliable, motivated, and eager to learn. A strong work ethic and a practical, hands-on approach are important, along with a willingness to develop your skills through full training and support.

You might already have experience in:
- Automotive or mechanics
- Telecoms or communications
- Manufacturing
- Rail or transport
- Electrical or mechanical engineering
- Field service engineering
Or perhaps you have no industry experience at all — are you a hands-on, motivated individual with an engineering mindset and a willingness to learn? If so, keep reading.
You'll also need:
- Full UK driving license - essential, as company vehicle provided
- Good communication skills
- Confidence working independently
- Flexibility to travel across the region (with occasional overnight stays)
A technical qualification is beneficial but not essential. If you have relevant hands-on experience or transferable technical skills, we’d love to hear from you.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided, but most importantly you will have a willingness to learn.
