Assistant-Intermediate Building Surveyor

London | Hybrid Working | Salary up to £45,000

Build your experience. Take ownership. Progress your career.

Are you an Assistant or Intermediate Building Surveyor looking for a role where you can get stuck into interesting projects, take on real responsibility and continue working towards chartership?

I'm working with a well-established and highly regarded building consultancy that's expanding its London team. They're looking for a Building Surveyor who wants more than just a role supporting from the side-lines - this is an opportunity to develop your technical expertise, work directly with clients and build a strong foundation for the next stage of your career.

You'll join an experienced, close-knit team with a strong track record of developing surveyors and supporting them through their APC. Whether you're working towards MRICS or have recently qualified, you'll have plenty of opportunity to broaden your experience and take ownership of your work.

What you'll be working on

The project portfolio is varied, covering commercial, industrial, laboratory, and high-end residential properties, meaning no two weeks are likely to look the same.

You'll gain hands-on experience across areas including:

  • Producing photographic schedules of condition
  • Carrying out dilapidations instructions
  • Undertaking site inspections and snagging surveys
  • Assisting with building surveys and technical reports
  • Supporting contract administration across a range of projects
  • Assisting with project management on multi-million-pound refurbishment and maintenance schemes
  • Working closely with clients, contractors, and wider project teams
  • Building your own client relationships and developing your professional network

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
