Assistant Investment Proposition Manager

At M&G, our purpose is to give everyone real confidence to put their money to work. With a heritage dating back more than 175 years, we have a long history of innovation in savings and investments, combining asset management and insurance expertise to offer a wide range of solutions.

Our two distinct operating segments, Asset Management and Life, work together to provide access to balanced, long-term investment and savings solutions.

Through telling it like it is, owning it now and moving it forward together with care and integrity; we are creating an exceptional place to work for exceptional talent.

We will consider flexible working arrangements for any of our roles and offer workplace adjustments to ensure you have the support you need to succeed in your role.

The Role

This is a really exciting time to join a dynamic team that sits at the heart of the M&G Life business. Our remit is to own and manage the various investment propositions used by our customers, including our flagship £70bn PruFund proposition. We are at the forefront of shaping, governing and overseeing the outcomes we generate for our customers, and more importantly how we improve those outcomes in the future.

The Assistant Investment Propositions Manager supports the effective management, development and ongoing governance & reporting of M&G Life investment propositions.

Working alongside Investment Proposition Managers and the Fund Reporting Team, the role provides day-to-day proposition & reporting support, analysis, co-ordination and delivery across PruFund and other smoothed/with-profits funds, together with the wider unit-linked and OEIC fund ranges for which the team is responsible.

The role focuses primarily on business-as-usual activity and defined work packages rather than leading major or complex initiatives. It helps ensure propositions continue to deliver good customer outcomes, remain aligned with regulatory expectations and internal frameworks, and support commercial and distribution objectives.

Role Context

M&G Life is a division of M&G plc. It runs the Prudential Assurance Company and is responsible for manufacturing and reviewing insurance products, including legacy business and life and pension products open to new business in the UK retail market.

Key Focus Areas

  • Supporting proposition managers with the ongoing management of PruFund, other smoothed/with-profits propositions, unit-linked funds and OEICs.
  • Delivering accurate, timely business-as-usual analysis, reporting, governance and stakeholder co-ordination.
  • Helping to assess proposition performance, customer outcomes, risks, regulatory developments and market or competitor changes.
  • Taking ownership of assigned activities while working within defined frameworks, agreed priorities and senior escalation routes.

Key Responsibilities

Proposition Management and BAU Support

  • Support the ongoing management and development of retail investment propositions, including PruFund, other smoothed/with-profits funds, unit-linked and OEIC fund ranges.
  • Undertake regular proposition and fund-related activities, including information gathering, analysis, documentation, action tracking and maintenance of supporting records.
  • Assist Investment Proposition Managers with defined elements of proposition change, fund developments, reviews and implementation activity.
  • Co-ordinate inputs from relevant teams and subject matter experts, ensuring dependencies, actions and decisions are clearly recorded and followed through.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
