Location: London

Full-time, office-based

Salary: Up to £65,000 + bonus

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant L&D Director to join a prestigious London hotel and play a key role in shaping the learning, development, and talent agenda across the property.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced Learning and Development professional who is passionate about creating exceptional people experiences and building a strong culture of learning, performance, and progression.

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will support the delivery of the hotel's overall L&D strategy, working closely with department heads and managers to identify development needs and deliver impactful learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the design and implementation of the hotel's L&D strategy and annual training plan.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing L&D function.
  • Partnering with department heads to identify skills gaps and development priorities.
  • Designing and delivering engaging training programs across all levels of the hotel.
  • Supporting leadership development, talent management, and succession planning.
  • Developing onboarding and induction programs that create a strong colleague experience from day one.
  • Driving a culture of continuous learning, coaching, and feedback.
  • Monitoring training effectiveness, engagement, and ROI, using data and feedback to continually improve programs.
  • Supporting compliance, mandatory training, and relevant industry standards.
  • Building strong relationships with external training providers and partners.
  • Championing the hotel's values and ensuring they are embedded throughout the colleague journey.

We're looking for an experienced L&D professional with a strong background in luxury, upscale, or high-volume hospitality, ideally within a hotel environment.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience in a senior L&D, Learning Manager, or Assistant L&D Director role.
  • Strong knowledge of learning strategy, talent development, and leadership programs.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • The confidence to work with senior stakeholders and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • A proactive, creative, and commercially-minded approach to L&D.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • A genuine passion for developing people and creating a positive workplace culture.
