Assistant Operations Manager, Corporate Banking
Salary: Up to £90,000
Working pattern: Four days per week in the office
We’re looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to help run the day-to-day operations of a corporate banking team. Working closely with the Head of Operations, you’ll supervise a small team and ensure transactions, documentation and customer queries are handled accurately, on time and in line with the bank’s controls.
What you’ll do
- Oversee loan operations, including drawdowns, servicing, documentation and the resolution of transaction queries.
- Supervise domestic and international payments, reconciliations and settlements.
- Manage the operational aspects of risk participations, guarantees and letters of credit.
- Review loan and collateral documentation, working with credit and legal colleagues to resolve issues.
- Support customer onboarding and periodic reviews, ensuring CDD and KYC requirements are met and concerns are escalated appropriately.
- Maintain effective operational controls, support audits and improve processes and systems.
- Coach and develop team members while building strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.

What you’ll bring
- Around 5–10 years’ experience across banking operations, with strong practical knowledge of loan administration and documentation.
- Experience with international payments, trade finance products and frontline CDD requirements.
- Supervisory experience and the confidence to review work, resolve issues and develop others.
- Sound judgement, attention to detail and clear communication with clients and internal teams.
- A degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

This role would suit someone who enjoys staying close to transactions while taking responsibility for team performance, controls and service. You must be willing to work from the office four days a week.
