Are you an experienced engineering professional ready to take the next step in your career?

We're looking for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the day-to-day running of our Engineering department, ensuring our manufacturing operation continues to perform safely, efficiently and reliably. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, you'll help lead the maintenance team, drive continuous improvement and oversee our engineering stores and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Assist with fault finding, troubleshooting and continuous improvement projects.
  • Manage engineering stores, spare parts and stock control.
  • Raise purchase orders and liaise with suppliers and contractors.
  • Support engineering budgets, reporting and compliance.
  • Develop engineering processes, work instructions and team capability.

We're looking for a proactive engineering professional who enjoys leading people, solving problems and driving continuous improvement.

You'll ideally have:

  • At least five years' experience in an Assistant Maintenance Manager, Engineering Supervisor or similar leadership role within manufacturing.
  • Experience managing contractors and external suppliers.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across production and engineering teams.
  • Experience managing budgets and analysing engineering performance.
  • A hands-on approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • A recognised engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship (desirable).
  • Experience using maintenance management systems such as Piranha (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and AutoCAD or SolidWorks would be advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport due to our site location.
