Assistant Management Accountant
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Assistant Management Accountant to join our growing Finance team at Inspired Villages.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to build on their management accounting experience within a fast-paced and expanding organisation. Working closely with the Director of Finance and Management Accountants, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing valuable financial insight that supports decision-making across the business.
As part of a collaborative and high-performing finance team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting activities, including month-end reporting, balance sheet management, cash flow analysis, audit support, and intercompany accounting. This role offers genuine opportunities for development and is ideally suited to someone who is looking to progress their finance career within a growing organisation.
The Role
As Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the preparation of monthly management accounts and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the group.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Preparing and posting monthly journals including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
- Supporting the month-end close process and ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating outstanding items.
- Completing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
- Supporting cash flow reporting and analysis.
- Performing intercompany reconciliations and resolving variances across group entities.
- Recharging costs accurately across the business.
- Producing financial reports and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Assisting with quarterly VAT returns.
- Supporting internal and external audit requirements.
- Maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.

About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with a proactive and analytical approach.
You Will Have
- Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Finance Analyst, Assistant Accountant, or similar finance role.
- A good understanding of management accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Experience preparing journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong Excel and financial systems experience.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
Desirable
- Part-qualified or actively studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
- Experience working within a group structure or multi-site organisation.
- Exposure to management accounts preparation and month-end reporting.
