Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant
Duration: Permanent / Full Time
Location: Chepstow UK (2-3 days in office)
Responsible to: Group Financial Controller
Responsible for: Providing finance administration and accounting support across the Group.
Job Function
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Finance Assistant will provide day-to-day financial administration and accounting support across the TXO group. This is a hands-on role within a growing and evolving Finance function, supporting accurate transaction processing, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance across multiple Group entities and international markets.
The successful candidate will work closely with the wider Finance team and internal stakeholders, helping to ensure financial processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed deadlines.
The role will also provide opportunities to support process improvements and contribute to the continued development and streamlining of the Group's financial operations.
Specific Responsibilities
Financial Administration & Transaction Processing
- Generate sales invoices, returns, and credit notes across the Group.
- Support monthly and annual accounts for TXO Pty Ltd, including BAS returns.
- Prepare EC Sales and Intrastat returns.
- Process cash book and general ledger transactions.
- Assist with Pleo expense posting and reconciliation.
- Support Purchase Ledger, Credit Control, and GRNI queries as required.

Reconciliations & Financial Reporting
- Complete general ledger and intercompany reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Assist with year-end accounts and audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records.
Finance & Business Support
- Provide finance administration and support across the Group.
- Work with internal teams to provide accurate financial information and reporting.
- Support the Group Financial Controller and Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and projects.
- Contribute to improving finance processes, reporting systems, and operational efficiency.
- Provide a high standard of service to internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance & Policies
- Follow TXO policies and procedures, including Quality, Health & Safety, Environment, and Information Security requirements.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and in line with financial controls and procedures.
- Undertake other reasonable duties within the scope and capability of the role.
About You
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or finance administration role, or an AAT qualification (or equivalent).
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using accounting or financial systems, such as Sage X3, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- The ability to work accurately and meet deadlines, even when managing competing priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team and build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
