Assistant Management Accountant
Are you an experienced Assistant Management Accountant looking for your next opportunity within a large, fast-paced business where you can really take ownership of your work? Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly successful organisation based in Coalville, who are looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their busy Finance team on a 15-month fixed-term maternity cover contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong hands-on Management Accounts experience who enjoys working in a varied and fast-moving environment. The position offers a great mix of Management Accounts and Fixed Asset responsibilities, working closely with the wider Finance team and providing key financial information to senior management.
The successful candidate will ideally be available at short notice to allow for a comprehensive handover ahead of the current postholder's maternity leave.
In return, the successful candidate will receive a salary of c£41,000 per annum.
Skills & Experience
- Strong previous Management Accounts experience is essential, including practical experience with accruals and prepayments
- Previous experience working within a large, fast-paced organisation with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Fixed Asset Register and/or CapEx experience would be highly advantageous, although training can be provided
- AAT/CIMA/ACCA or similar qualification would be advantageous but is not essential, with relevant experience being the priority
- Experience using Sage 200, another Sage package or similar accounting software
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator who is comfortable working with colleagues across different levels of a business
- Able to learn quickly and pick up existing processes with minimal supervision
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively during busy month-end periods
- Immediately available or on a short notice period due to the required handover period

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly Management Accounts across multiple business locations
- Prepare accruals and prepayments and complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register, including additions, disposals and monthly updates
- Complete asset month-end processes and maintain accurate supporting records
- Produce regular CapEx expenditure reports for senior management
- Process asset invoices and raise CapEx orders as required
- Produce income reports, stock information and ad-hoc financial reports
- Support the preparation of final accounts for larger projects
- Work closely with operational teams across the business, responding to finance queries and providing relevant information
- Support year-end processes and provide information for external audit requests
- Assist with foreign currency purchases and EU/non-EU imports where required
- Work closely with senior members of the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting
