The Opportunity
We are looking for a part qualified accountant to join our Finance team in Ystrad Mynach as our Assistant Management Accountant.
In this key role, you’ll deliver accurate financial reporting, strengthen controls, and support decision-making across the business. You’ll gain hands-on experience in management reporting, budgeting, audit, tax compliance, and inventory control, working across UK Biotage entities.

What you will be doing
- Manage general ledger accounting including month end close period to 4 days.
- To ensure all information produced is accurate and well presented.
- Assist with completing the Monthly Management Accounts Pack to deadline.
- Accruals and Prepayments schedules, posting and reconciling.
- Prepare financial statements, annual reports, and statutory statistical submissions.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, post depreciations, disposals, sales, and review assets under construction, including Demo inventory.
- Post and reconcile intercompany balances for UK / European subsidiaries.
- Prepare and reconcile UK VAT, Tax / Deferred tax postings.
- Post payroll files, accrue and reconcile salaries, pension costs, and related taxes.
- Budget Holder Reports.
- Bank Reconciliations.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Other ad hoc requirements to ensure deadlines are hit with the team of 3 management accountants.

What you'll bring
- Proven experience in a similar Management Accountant role.
- Part-Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Experience with manufacturing environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience with European entities would be an advantage but not essential.
- Proficiency with financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics F&O, Medius, Cognos or equivalent). Advanced Excel user.
