Location: Shoreditch, London

Working Structure: Office Based (Thursdays we work from home)

Reports to: Finance Manager

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum

Who are we?

Since medical cannabis was legalised in the UK in 2018, Cantourage UK has been building the infrastructure that makes this industry work, safely, compliantly and at scale.

We operate across two deeply interconnected worlds:

  • A regulated tele-health clinic, delivering high-quality patient care
  • A licensed pharmaceutical supply operation, powering the wider ecosystem

Together, they form a complex, high-trust system where clinical integrity, operational excellence and smart technology must work in lockstep.

As we move into our next chapter of growth, we're building out our in-house finance capability to match.

What's the purpose of the role?

We're looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team as we scale. This is a new addition to the team, created to keep pace with increasing complexity across the department and more frequent reporting requirements at Group level, which now needs weekly rather than monthly visibility.

Reporting to our Finance Manager, and working closely with our Fractional CFO, you'll take ownership of key areas of month-end reporting, own our weekly cash forecast, and play a hands-on role in two major system launches as we build a finance function that can scale with the business.

What impact will you have?

Month end and reporting

  • Take over preparation of several areas of month end from our Finance Manager, working to a clear timetable.
  • Prepare accruals, prepayments and other month-end journals, with proper supporting schedules.
  • Support the wider month-end close and help keep the trial balance clean and ready for review.

Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Own balance sheet reconciliations across your areas where every account is reconciled, evidenced and signed off with a clear audit trail.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling differences promptly, keeping the reconciliation file current rather than catching up in arrears.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, control accounts and other balance sheet items, including inventory where relevant.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Fixed asset register

  • Own and maintain the fixed asset register: additions, disposals, transfers and depreciation.
  • Run the monthly depreciation charge, reconcile the register to the general ledger and confirm the closing NBV each period.

Liabilities

  • Reconcile and maintain accounts payable, accruals, provisions and other liability accounts.
  • Reconcile the purchase ledger control account and resolve aged or unmatched items.
  • Assist with VAT returns and other statutory filings, ensuring supporting reconciliations are in place.

Cashflow forecasting

  • Deliver a weekly cash forecast that reflects reality, not a rough estimate carried over from the month before.
  • Track actual versus forecast, explain variances and improve the accuracy of the forecast as we go.
  • Maintain the Direct Debit register and support daily treasury reporting.

Systems and process

  • Play an active role in system launches, helping test, build and embed the new processes that come with them.
  • Document month-end process changes as they happen, so what you own is repeatable and not dependent on any one person.
  • Get comfortable with Stripe payment flows and inventory accounting as part of the wider systems landscape.

What will you bring to the table?

  • Mid-level accounting experience, ideally already studying ACCA (or equivalent), with a solid grasp of double-entry (you understand why a journal does what it does, not just where to post it).
  • Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments as part of a month-end process.
  • Some exposure to cashflow forecasting, and comfortable owning a forecast rather than just feeding into one.
  • FMCG experience is a strong plus, particularly if you've worked with Stripe payments or have an understanding of inventory accounting.
  • Confident with Xero and advanced Excel skills.
  • Clear, confident written communication (you can write a straightforward email without leaning on a tool to do it for you).
  • Available soon or immediately.
  • Proactive, and genuinely looking to learn and develop.

Bonus points if you have:

  • ACCA (or AAT, ACA, CIMA) tests already secured.
  • Direct experience with Pigment, Cin7, or similar FP&A or inventory systems.
  • Prior experience in a regulated or tightly controlled industry.
  • Experience working in a small or scaling finance team where processes are still being built.

Who wouldn't thrive in this role?

  • This isn't a role for someone who wants a narrow, clearly defined seat within a big finance team. You'll be picking up live areas of month end from day one, and helping shape the process as you go, not just following one that's already written.
  • It's also not the right fit for someone who wants everything settled before they start. We're mid system change, with launches both landing soon, so comfort with ambiguity and the odd bit of mess is essential.
  • Finally, if you don't want ownership of a reconciliation to genuinely be yours (right, on time, and something you can explain without hesitation) this probably isn't your next move.

What do we offer?

  • 📅 36 day annual leave (includes your birthday + all UK public holidays)
  • 💰 Performance based annual bonus
  • 📈 Share options - we all have skin in the game
  • 🍽️ Inhouse chef - nutritious lunches cooked 3 days a week
  • 🐶 Dog-friendly office
  • 🩺 Comprehensive private medical insurance
  • 🤸 ClassPass membership (gyms, fitness classes, yoga, massages & more)
  • 🚴 Cycle-to-work scheme
