Robert Half Talent Solutions are seeking a permanent Management Accountant to join a fast-paced private equity backed business in Newport, South Wales.

We are seeking a proactive Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. This role offers a unique blend of core management accounting, commercial analysis, and high-level exposure to board-level reporting. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data while supporting the business through a period of PE-driven growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Month-End

  • Management Accounts: Preparation and assistance with monthly management accounts, including prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, and all relevant month-end tasks.
  • Fixed Assets & Stock: Full ownership of Fixed Assets, including maintaining the register. Responsible for Creditors and Stock management, including weekly and month-end reporting.
  • Ledger Management: Daily bank reconciliations, postings, and allocations to the AR/AP ledgers.
  • Purchase Ledger Support: Ensuring all manual and 3-way match GRN invoices are processed accurately and timely, in accordance with company finance policies.

Reporting & Board Exposure

  • Presentations: Assist in preparation and delivery of both Board presentations and Budget presentations.
  • Group & International: Assisting with group consolidations and the management of International accounts.
  • Cash Management: Managing the weekly payment run and providing essential assistance with cashflow forecasting.

Commercial Analysis & Budgeting

  • Budgeting: Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Variance Analysis: Reviewing weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly spend with budget holders to analyse and report on spend vs. variance.

Audit & Compliance

  • Statutory Requirements: Assist in the preparation for Statutory returns and assisting in the year-end Statutory Audit.
  • External Liaison: Assist with External Audits.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualification: Currently studying towards ACCA or CIMA (Part-Qualified).
  • Technical Skills: Strong ERP experience and advanced Excel skills.
  • Communication: Confident in presenting financial data to senior leadership and collaborating with non-finance budget holders.
