Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with an expanding organisation based in Bromsgrove. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team as an Assistant Management Accountant on a full-time permanent basis.

Package and benefits
- Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week – client would also consider 4 days per week
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays

Job role:
- Assisting the Finance Director with preparing monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments
- Monitoring project costs and completing variance analysis across active projects
- Maintaining and reconciling key balance sheet accounts to ensure financial records remain accurate
- Supporting financial compliance activities, including processing CIS and VAT returns and reviewing subcontractor valuations
- Assisting with payroll using Sage Payroll, including providing holiday cover and completing pension submissions
- Supporting purchase ledger and sales ledger activities during busy periods and team absences
- Working closely with the wider finance team to support accurate and efficient day-to-day financial operations

Skills and experience
- Holding AAT Level 3 or 4, or demonstrating equivalent experience through a QBE background
- Having previous experience within an Assistant Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Demonstrating strong Excel skills, including confidently using VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
- Having experience using accounting software, with Sage, Sage Payroll and Construction Manager experience being advantageous
- Having previous construction industry experience and knowledge of CIS and DRC being preferred
- Demonstrating experience with management accounts, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and financial reporting
- Holding a full driving license due to the office location and limited public transport links
