Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Ardwick Manchester, office based
Duration: Permanent, Full time

Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of year-end accounts and reports
- Sole preparation of monthly management accounts, with overhead analysis and reporting
- Regular balance sheet reconciliations
- Intercompany accounting and reconciliation, along with posting monthly PAYE journals
- Maintaining fixed asset register
- Cost tracking and providing variable analysis on a monthly basis
- Overseeing the VAT and CIS returns and submissions, carried out by our finance assistant and purchase ledger
- Close monitoring and assistance with query and supplier resolutions
- Overseeing accounts payable and finalizing monthly payment runs
- Carry out monthly departmental audits and reviews
- Supporting the finance manager and wider team as required
Skills/Requirements
- Skilled in Management Accounting
- Inter Company Accounting
- Skilled in VAT and CIS returns
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Part-qualified or qualified CIMA/ACCA preferred; however, candidates with significant relevant accounting and finance experience will also be considered
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt your messaging for different audiences
- A basic understanding of the structure and purpose of financial reports
- A proactive and organized approach, with the ability to support and coordinate multiple projects
- A strong sense of ownership, with the ability to independently manage tasks and take the lead on briefs when required.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience in the construction industry and an understanding of CIS preferred

- Salary of £35,000 to £40,000 per annum (DOE)
