The Opportunity

Greystone Consulting Group is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation based in Cardiff to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant.

Working as part of an experienced finance team, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of management accounting activities, including month-end reporting, reconciliations, payroll, journals, accruals and prepayments, while developing the skills and experience required to progress into a Management Accountant position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Complete balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll.
  • Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and management information.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Support cash flow reporting and monitoring.
  • Assist with maintaining the fixed asset register.
  • Help prepare information for external auditors and year-end accounts.
  • Work closely with other members of the finance team to ensure reporting deadlines are achieved.
  • Support the improvement of financial processes, controls and reporting.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting when required.
  • Gradually take ownership of additional areas of the management accounts process as your experience develops.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
