Assistant Management Accountant

Huntingdon | £35,000-£40,000

We are recruiting an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team in Huntingdon. Working closely with an experienced Financial Controller, you'll gain broad exposure across management accounting, financial reporting, business partnering, analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to accelerate their development in a commercially focused environment.

  • Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs
  • Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Payroll and intercompany reconciliations
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Delivering insightful financial analysis and variance commentary
  • Assisting with annual audit preparation
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders across the business
  • Contributing to finance transformation, process improvement and cost-saving initiatives

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical foundations with a proactive attitude and a desire to progress.

You'll ideally have:

  • At least 2 years' experience within a finance environment
  • Experience supporting the production of management accounts
  • Active studies towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT qualifications
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience using ERP/accounting systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A positive, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn
