Reports to: Head Financial Reporting and Systems Accountant
Location: ScreenSkills – Goswell Road, Central London
Contract Term: Permanent, Full Time

Role Purpose
The Assistant Management Accountant supports the finance team by preparing management accounts, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and providing accurate financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Within this role, you will use your proven skills to support the Senior Finance Team providing accurate and useful management information.
The role is ideal for a part-qualified or early-career accountant looking to develop management accounting experience. To be successful in this role, you will have to demonstrate to be driven, focused yet empathetic, and deliver great customer service at the same time as meeting finance deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and variance analysis
- Review and post grants and bursaries journals
- Assist in bi-weekly payment runs
- Assist in reallocations and reconciliations of costs
- Set up and maintenance of creditors and debtors in the finance system
- Support budgeting and forecasting, including cost analysis and trend reporting
- Maintain the fixed asset register, recording acquisitions, disposals, and calculating depreciation
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Produce management reports and dashboards for management review
- Support cost control initiatives and provide analysis on business performance
- Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor queries
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required

Essential Skills and Experience and/or Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
- Part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA/ AAT) or actively studying
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 1–2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role (desirable)
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. SUN Systems)
Essential:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good understanding of management accounting principles
- Ability to interpret financial data and explain it clearly
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas)
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
- Adaptable to change, have a flexible approach to work with a ‘can do’ attitude, be a great team player
- Have a proactive and communicative nature; demonstrate a strong sense of commitment and responsibility.
