The Distefano family, spanning two generations, started San Carlo over 30 years ago and has seen it grow to twenty-five authentic Italian restaurants across the UK – from Covent Garden, Piccadilly and Knightsbridge in London to Bristol, Leicester, Liverpool, Leeds, Cheshire and Manchester, with a growing number overseas – including Kuwait, Bangkok, Dubai, Miami & Sardinia with additional restaurant openings planned as San Carlo continues to expand globally.

The Role
We are looking for an organised and proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team. As an Assistant Management Accountant with San Carlo, you’re not just joining an award-winning company, you're becoming part of something special.

The Role
Working closely with the Management Accountant and wider finance team, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their management accounting skills within a fast-paced, multi-site hospitality business.
Day-to-day, You'll Be Involved In
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Supporting the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Taking ownership of specific cost lines and cost centres, analysing performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies across the business.
- Preparing and reconciling the cashbook.
- Processing and reviewing invoices, expenses and intercompany transactions.
- Maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register.
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to improve the efficiency of the finance function.
- Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to provide financial support and insight.

About You
We're looking for someone with experience in a management accounting or similar finance role who is looking to continue developing their career.
You'll Ideally Have
- Previous experience supporting the preparation of management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Be studying towards, or looking to continue studying, AAT, CIMA or ACCA.
- Good working knowledge of Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across the business.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
