Assistant Management Accountant Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum Location: Office-based, Monday to Friday Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

An established and growing business within the supply chain and logistics sector is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting to the Group Management Accountant, this role will play a key part in supporting the delivery of accurate financial information, assisting with month-end processes, and providing financial support across the wider business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to develop their management accounting experience within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Group Management Accountant with month-end accounting processes.
  • Prepare accruals and prepayments calculations.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of management accounts working papers.
  • Provide support to the purchase ledger and sales ledger functions as required.
  • Produce routine and ad hoc financial reports for management.
  • Maintain and manage lease documentation and records.
  • Analyse financial performance and highlight opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Assist with year-end accounts preparation and external audit requirements.
  • Support finance-related projects and administrative activities across the department.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience working within a finance or accounts environment.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business.

Desirable

  • Previous experience supporting management accounts preparation.
  • Knowledge of finance administration processes and procedures.
  • Experience using ERP/accounting software.
  • Experience producing financial reports and documentation using finance systems.
