About the role:
We’re looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our London-based finance team and play a key role in supporting Oritain’s continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong grounding in transactional finance who is looking to develop their management accounting expertise in a growing, purpose-driven business.
Working closely with our Management Accountants and wider finance team, you'll support month-end reporting, reconciliations, financial controls and compliance activities across the UK and international entities. You'll join a highly experienced team, gaining exposure to management accounting responsibilities while receiving support and mentoring from experienced finance professionals.

What you'll be doing
- Support the delivery of accurate and timely month-end reporting through the preparation of journals, accruals, prepayments and management account schedules.
- Work closely with the wider finance team to help prepare monthly management accounts, perform variance analysis against budget and forecast, and provide ad hoc financial analysis when required.
- Play an important role in maintaining strong financial controls, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating reconciling items, and supporting the integrity of financial reporting across the business.
- Take ownership of several key reconciliations and compliance activities, including:
- Fixed asset accounting
- Lease accounting under IFRS 16
- Intercompany reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Audit support
- Review accounts payable transactions, ensure accurate coding and classification of financial information, maintain supporting documentation, and contribute to process improvements as the finance function evolves.
- Build strong relationships across the business, take ownership of your work, and support the wider team to achieve shared goals.
What we're looking for
- Commitment to building a career in management accounting and either already studying towards, or planning to pursue, a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
- Previous experience from a finance or accounting environment, including exposure to month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and core financial controls.
- Experience gained within an accounts or finance team would be particularly valuable, as would a strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Confidence using Excel and financial systems, with NetSuite or other ERP experience considered a strong advantage.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting colleagues, taking ownership of your work, and contributing to a positive, high-performing culture.
- Suitable for candidates stepping into management accounting from a transactional finance background, as well as those already early in their management accounting journey and looking for an environment where they can continue to grow and develop.
