Assistant Management Accountant / Finance Administrator
We are looking for a proactive and resourceful Assistant Management Accountant / Finance Administrator to join our Finance Team.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys combining finance and accounting tasks with day-to-day administration. We are looking for someone who can work independently, take ownership of their responsibilities and confidently find solutions rather than always waiting for direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Finance Team with day-to-day financial and administrative activities
- Using Sage, our internal management system and various client platforms
- Processing and maintaining accurate financial information and records
- Completing routine accounting tasks, reconciliations and financial checks
- Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Preparing spreadsheets, reports and management information
- Supporting the preparation of information for management accounts
- Updating internal systems and ensuring information is accurate and up to date
- Liaising with colleagues, clients and suppliers to obtain information and resolve queries
- Identifying discrepancies and following them through to resolution
- Providing general administrative support to the Finance Team
- Helping to improve processes and finding more efficient ways of completing routine tasks

What We're Looking For
We are particularly interested in someone who is resourceful, organised and comfortable working independently.
You should be someone who can be given a task or problem, investigate it, use the resources available to you and take it through to completion.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts or similar administrative role
- A basic understanding of accounting principles
- Experience with Sage or similar accounting software
- Good Excel and general IT skills
- Confidence learning and working across different systems and client platforms
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to prioritise your own workload
- A proactive, practical and problem-solving approach
- Good communication skills
- The confidence to ask questions when needed while also being able to investigate and find answers independently

Experience or qualifications in bookkeeping/accounting, such as AAT, would be beneficial but are not essential depending on your practical experience.

You don't need to know everything from day one. What matters is your attitude and approach.
We are looking for someone who thinks: “I'll look into it and find out” rather than “I don't know how to do that.”
You'll be joining a busy Finance Team where priorities can change, so you'll need to be adaptable, dependable and comfortable taking responsibility for getting things done.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already has some finance experience and wants to develop their accounting knowledge while becoming an important part of the day-to-day running of the Finance Team.
Monday to Friday / 40 hours with flexibility.
