Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Location: Knaresborough

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a successful and established organisation. Working closely with the Group Management Accountant, you will support a range of finance activities including month end processes, management accounts, reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.

This role is ideal for a finance professional looking to develop their accounting career within a supportive team while gaining valuable experience across management accounting.

Key Responsibilities Of Assistant Accountant

  • Support month end processes, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Assist with management accounts preparation and financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and working papers.
  • Support purchase ledger and sales ledger activities.
  • Produce routine and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Maintain asset and lease documentation.
  • Assist with year end accounts and audit requirements.
  • Analyse financial information to support business improvements.

Experience Required

  • Previous experience within a finance role.
  • Good understanding of accounting processes and financial administration.
  • Experience with reconciliations and maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and finance systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
