Assistant Management Accountant | Rossendale | £30-35k + study support | Permanent

The Role Trostan Dene are supporting an established manufacturer in Haslingden in finding an Assistant Management Accountant to support the finance team on a permanent basis.

The Assistant Management Accountant will support the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly management accounts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone progressive that is looking to gain broad experience within a growing business. There is a progression plan to full Management Accountant once more experienced and qualified.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Assist with P&L analysis, identifying key variances against budget and prior periods.
  • Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash-flow information.
  • Produce regular management information and financial reports for senior management.
  • Assist with stock reporting and reconciliations, including investigating variances.
  • Oversee sales and purchase ledger, helping to resolve queries and maintain accurate records.

What We’re Looking For

  • Studying towards AAT/CIMA/ACCA.
  • Previous experience in an accounts assistant or assistant accountant role.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
