An established and growing business is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join its finance team on a 16-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover with an immediate start in St Helens.

Description
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, The Assistant Management Accountant will play a key role in:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Producing P&L reporting across multiple entities
- Overhead reporting, analysis, and cost control
- Distribution cost reporting and performance analysis
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing accruals and prepayments
- Supporting administration and related finance processes
- Assisting with month-end close activities
- Supporting the preparation and delivery of the annual audit
- Contributing to ongoing finance process improvement and automation initiatives
- Providing ad hoc financial analysis and operational support to the wider business

Profile
We're open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. You may be:
- An Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant looking for the next step
- A finance graduate or AAT Level 4 studier with experience looking to get into Management Accounts
Essential Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- The confidence to challenge costs and investigate variances
- A proactive and inquisitive approach
- A willingness to learn and develop
- Strong Excel skills

Job Offer

- Salary ranging from £30,000 to £35,000, dependent on the level of experience.
