Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant
Salary: £32,960
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week
This role offers hybrid working, three days on-site at Langdale Hotel and Spa, Ambleside, LA22 9JD / two days per week from home.
Role Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to provide effective support to the Management Accountant and Finance Assistants, throughout the day-to-day running of the finance department, together with the production of the management accounts, ad hoc reporting and annual audit. You will also work closely with Heads of Departments in achieving this aim.
Key Responsibilities
- To assist the Management Accountant in maintaining and developing a financial reporting system that ensures timely, accurate and relevant information is produced on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Support the finance team in the establishment of new business processes.
- Production of timely monthly management accounts.
- Prepare Nominal Journals, VAT Returns, stats forms and any other relevant financial submissions, as required.
- Prepare the bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts.
- Manage debtors and creditors, including supplier payments and statement reconciliations.
- Establish strong working relationships with the operational management team.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience of analytical thinking and problem-solving.
- The ability to handle a lot of data from different systems.
- Competency using Microsoft Office – Word, Excel (in particular), PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work collaboratively across departments on the wider Estate.
- Be able to handle multiple challenging priorities and assignments, communicating effectively with stakeholders.
- A background of working within a Finance department in a commercial organisation, preferably within the hospitality sector, although not essential.
- Experience in managing a finance system and third-party suppliers.

Working conditions
This role offers hybrid working, three days on-site at Langdale Hotel and Spa, Ambleside, LA22 9JD / two days per week from home.
