Assistant Management Accountant

Our client, a multi-discipline group of companies, is actively looking to strengthen their finance department by appointing an Assistant Management Accountant to work alongside their Finance Manager, taking real ownership of the monthly reporting cycle across a number of the group companies.

This is a hands-on role. You will get exposure to the full month-end process rather than one narrow slice of it, and you will see how the numbers connect to businesses that are actually trading.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the team with transactional processing and the weekly supplier runs when needed
  • Preparing prepayments, accruals, and journals for the monthly reporting cycle
  • Processing and reconciling intercompany charges
  • Calculating and reconciling the VAT returns
  • Calculating fixed asset depreciation and maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Preparing P&L, balance sheet, and management reports for the smaller companies within the group
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies in the general ledger
  • Producing routine and ad hoc financial reporting as the business needs it
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with year-end accounts preparation
  • Liaising with external auditors where required
  • Keeping office records and information accurate and well organized

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
