Role Overview
You will be joining a well-established Reinsurance firm as their Assistant Management Accountant on a full-time, permanent basis. Part of a highly collaborative finance team, you will work alongside experienced individuals who will be there to aid your continued learning and development. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional looking to broaden their management accounting experience within a fast-paced, supportive, and professional environment. This role will be based in their modern City of London office 3 days a week, with the opportunity to work from home for the remaining 2 days.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Support the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings.
- Prepare and process supplier payment runs.
- Reconcile bank accounts, ledgers, and control accounts.
- Monitor aged debtors and support credit control activities.
- Assist with payroll administration and reporting.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Prepare financial analysis and management information for stakeholders.
- Assist with VAT returns, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Support year-end audits and statutory reporting requirements.
- Contribute to finance process improvements and ad hoc projects.

Role Requirements
- At least 2 years' experience within a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and keen to develop professionally.
- Experience within financial services, professional services, or a regulated environment would be advantageous.
- Studying towards, or planning to pursue, a professional accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
